Feasability and Project Management, Project Cost Control in inflationary enviroment

This area includes project startup, selection of management staff, hiring and supervision of engineering and construction works, technical start-up and design of information and management control systems for the new business.

The sapin former SYNERGIE Division has developed a series of programs for planning, controlling and following up works during project execution. In this particular phase, sapin s.a makes use of the Programme Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT), resorting to such systems as PMS (Microsoft Project Management).
Furthermore, a special system "Investment Economic Cost Control and Financial Strategy" (CEFI) - has been implemented to suit unstable economic and financial conditions, which has already been put into practice in Argentina and Brazil.

This methodological work has brought about a reduction in the project schedule and in the risks of unfulfilled services, all this being to the advantage of the general budget. Special mention must be made about the monitoring expertise on the evolution of both the capital source and the project cost escalation and currency exchange hedging.

sapin s.a. has successfully operated Project Cost Control Systems, project management and consulting services in more than forty five projects for over US$ 3.2 billon through our CEFI System. It was also transferred to one of the biggest engineering and construction company in Brazil.
Celulosa Puerto Piray, Hidroeléctrica Alicura, Buenos Aires Bus Terminal amd ICI PVC petrochemical plant, are some of the projects in which Sapin applied cost control systems. Additionally Sapin´s President conducted the in-house Nucleoelectrica feasibility analysis and PERT of Atucha II Nuclear Project (4 billon dollars) and community Projects as the gas pipeline and distribution grid in Cerro Catedral, Patagonia Argentina.

Appraisals, Mergers and Acquisitions

sapin s.a has developed its own cloud pricing appraisal methodology . Based on different valuation methods, different possible values of the company are obtained. In order to obtain "the value", each of the mentioned values is weighted according to their relative importance for the specific case. This weighted average happens to be the most realistic value of the company.

Appraisals:
The appraisal studies and calculation of the total or partial transfer value of a company takes into consideration accounting, technical and market aspects, including among

Production	Quality, downtime, costs, critical inputs (supply and price), working know how. The production process and technology changes are strongly considered in view of disrupting technologies that can eventually, change the company value.
Market	Consumer profile by sectors - Market Penetration - Competition - Potential local and foreign market - Market know-how - Brands introduction - Entrance and exit barriers, etc.
Commercial	Volume of revenues - Financial Costs - Structure and Distribution Costs - Useful period of the product, etc.
Human Resources	Potential and assessment, hidden labor conflicts.
Profit Potential	Based on different possible scenarios (technology outlook for product-process etc.) the potential benefit and generation of cash flow is evaluated. Generation, assumptions and risk and sensibility analysis. In this particular area Sapin has established an approach “Taylor made” to different interest, available data and the scope of company appraisal.

sapin s.a. participated in the acquisition of Austral Líneas Aéreas, valued and sold Porcelanas Verbano, negotiated several business for BPB plc (United Kingdom) and has done several valuations for the World Bank of many businesses to privatize; Parmalat Argentina S.A., Itsa S.A,Productos La Vascongada S.A., Massey Ferguson tractors and agro machinery plant, SAGEMULLER Group of Cies, as well as a sundry number of industrial plants.

sapin s.a. acted for the private sector in the privatization of the Petrochemical Sector, particularly Petroquimica Bahia Blanca (today Dow Chemical) and provided the Argentine Government and the World Bank with professional assistance in the privatization of several companies, such as Polisur S.A., Forja S.A. Petroquímica Río Tercero S.A., etc.

The Consultant company was responsible for the privatization of the Metropolitan Railways Roca, San Martín and Belgrano Sur, managed the successful bid and supervised the take-over and management appointment as well as Cielos del Sur (Austral Líneas Aéreas).

The company also took part in the privatization project Ferrocarril del Atlántico (Buenos Aires - Mar del Plata) also as Project Manager for a Consortium of local companies.
