Feasability and Project Management, Project Cost Control in inflationary enviroment
This area includes project startup, selection of management staff, hiring and supervision of engineering and construction works, technical start-up and design of information and management control systems for the new business.
The sapin former SYNERGIE Division has developed a series of programs for planning, controlling and following up works during project execution. In this particular phase, sapin s.a makes use of the Programme Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT), resorting to such systems as PMS (Microsoft Project Management). Furthermore, a special system "Investment Economic Cost Control and Financial Strategy" (CEFI) - has been implemented to suit unstable economic and financial conditions, which has already been put into practice in Argentina and Brazil. This methodological work has brought about a reduction in the project schedule and in the risks of unfulfilled services, all this being to the advantage of the general budget. Special mention must be made about the monitoring expertise on the evolution of both the capital source and the project cost escalation and currency exchange hedging. sapin s.a. has successfully operated Project Cost Control Systems, project management and consulting services in more than forty five projects for over US$ 3.2 billon through our CEFI System. It was also transferred to one of the biggest engineering and construction company in Brazil. Celulosa Puerto Piray, Hidroeléctrica Alicura, Buenos Aires Bus Terminal amd ICI PVC petrochemical plant, are some of the projects in which Sapin applied cost control systems. Additionally Sapin´s President conducted the in-house Nucleoelectrica feasibility analysis and PERT of Atucha II Nuclear Project (4 billon dollars) and community Projects as the gas pipeline and distribution grid in Cerro Catedral, Patagonia Argentina. |

Petroquímica Río Tercero S.A., etc. The Consultant company was responsible for the privatization of the Metropolitan Railways Roca, San Martín and Belgrano Sur, managed the successful bid and supervised the take-over and management appointment as well as Cielos del Sur (Austral Líneas Aéreas). The company also took part in the privatization project Ferrocarril del Atlántico (Buenos Aires - Mar del Plata) also as Project Manager for a Consortium of local companies. |
